Hartwall Logistics Company of 2005
The Finnish Logistics Forum has presented the Logistics Company of the Year award to Hartwall Ltd. for its advanced, high quality and sustained logistics development.
The Finnish Logistics Forum commends Hartwall especially for its continued development of its logistics as well as the innovative and daring solutions applied at the Hartwall Lahti logistics centre.
"I have followed the development of Hartwall's logistics regularly over the past 25 years. I am fascinated by the clear and sustained development work that Hartwall has done to better manage the supply chain of the entire company. A central factor in this is the new Hartwall Lahti production and logistics centre. It is wonderful that they have had the courage to introduce very modern technology that has made both physical delivery as well as its management more efficient. Rarely do we see such a strong will to make the most of new technology as we have seen at Hartwall," says Kari Litja, Executive Vice President of the Finnish Association of Logistics and secretary of the working group that selected the logistics company of the year.
The Finnish Logistics Forum's mission is to promote the development of logistics and logistics networks that support Finland's competitiveness by rewarding specialists in the field. The Logistics Company/Logistics Project of the Year award is presented either for high quality, multi-faceted and sustained development of logistics or for development projects and/or research that provides tangible, functional and financial benefit and innovation. The award has been presented since 1994. The Logistics Company/Project award for 2004 was presented to the Vetoketju project that developed the automation system of the forest industry's supply chain.
The Finnish Logistics Forum consists of the Foundation for Research on Transport, the Foundation for Scientific Research on Logistics, the Logistiikan Tutkimus ja Kehitys LORDA ry (Logistics Research and Development Association LORDA) and the Finnish Association of Logistics (www.logy.fi).
