Lapin Kulta the official beer of Eat & Joy
Hartwall's Lapin Kulta beer is the official beer of the Eat & Joy restaurant event being held between 21 and 25 September. Eat & Joy is Finland's most international restaurant event of all time. Lapin Kulta, which celebrates the marriage of food and beer, will feature prominently in the programmes of the event restaurants.
Lapin Kulta is a natural partner at this first-rate restaurant industry event.
"Beverages enjoyed with food are an essential part of any meal. They complement and bring out flavours. Beer is an excellent drink to enjoy with food and present trends promote beer as an accompaniment to food. A wide range of beers guarantees that the perfect beer can be found for any dish. Fish and shellfish go especially well with a strong flavour of hops. Munich style beers or wheat beers go well with pork. The hot burn of strongly spiced ethnic foods is best quenched with refreshing lager beers. Porters and fruit beers are also apt accompaniments to desserts. Light and full-flavoured Lapin Kulta goes well with all fish dishes as well as spicy and ethnic foods.
Beer can also be used in cooking. The hops in beer can be used to flavour food. The bitterness, fruitiness or sweetness of beer can be used to highlight flavours while the alcohol in beer helps tenderise meat.
Lapin Kulta is Finland's best-known beer and its only international beer brand that is exported to Sweden, Norway and Denmark, Russia, the Baltic countries, as well as, for example, Great Britain, Germany, France and Italy.Lapin Kulta has been internationally recognised in other respects too: for example, in 2000 it won the gold medal in London in the Premium Lager series. In an extensive Norwegian blind taste test, Lapin Kulta grabbed the win in the import beer series last spring.
Eat & Joy is the most international restaurant event in Finnish history. Through this event Helsinki presents itself to the world and all the international journalists visiting the city as one of the most diverse restaurant industry hubs of Northern Europe. At the same time, Eat & Joy offers the public an opportunity to experience what is going on in the creative sectors of Helsinki. 40 Helsinki restaurants have special programme during the event.
