Foster's Music to fly planeload of Finns to Foo Fighters’ London gig

Foo FightersThe results of Foster's Music’s unique competition are now in – visitors to www.fostersmusic.fi voted the Foo Fighters as number one. Foster’s Music will now fly 168 lucky winners to the Foo Fighters’ gig at London’s new Wembley Stadium on Saturday 7 June.

The www.fostersmusic.fi website brings together a variety of music-related items, such as the latest music news, information on summer festivals, music videos and a music shop. From January to March, it also ran a competition asking consumers to vote whether they would rather attend a Foo Fighters, Alicia Keys or Bullet For My Valentine gig in one of Europe’s major stadiums.

The Foo Fighters clinched top spot with 53% of the votes. Winners were drawn at random from all entries received. The prize trip will take 168 lucky Finns to the Foo Fighters’ concert at London’s new Wembley Stadium on Saturday 7 June. The prize is a concert trip for two, including return flights on a dedicated concert plane, one night’s accommodation, food, and the concert itself.

“Foster’s wants to offer Finns unique music experiences. The Foo Fighters’ mega concert at London’s enormous Wembley Stadium is without doubt an unforgettable experience. A promotion of this size hasn’t been seen in Finland for a long time,” say Pekko Koski, Foster’s Brand Manager for Hartwall.

The Foo Fighters, founded by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, is one of today’s most successful rock bands. The band has received four Grammy awards and has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. Their concerts are also popular. The 90,000 tickets available for the London gig at Wembley Stadium on 7 June sold out in 15 minutes. The band says that the – probably revolving – stage will be located in the centre of the stadium.

The Foster's Music prize draw was held on 7 April. Winners have been notified in person.

The promotion is being run in cooperation with record company SonyBMG.
