Nero FrizzanteHartwall will launch new beverages for the summer. On scorching days, they are perfect for moments of indulgence. And when the rain comes down, nothing can beat a sauna and one of our new drinks – the frizzy Nero Frizzante wine drink, light Upciders, Hartwall Original Gin Long Drink Light and Cool Grape Light, the fresh Otto Vadelma raspberry long drink and Tiger beer from Asia.

Consumers want a greater variety of light alcoholic beverages and fresh new drink options and flavours to choose from. Hartwall will roll out plenty of tempting new beverages to enjoy on a terrace in the summertime.

Nero Frizzante – the frizzy wine drink

A new mild festive beverage is now available to celebrate the summer. Nero Frizzante, made from Italian Lambrusco grapes, is an authentic and refreshing white wine drink. This frizzy drink comes in a bottle with a champagne cork. Nero Frizzante is perfect for socialising and enjoyable moments. The 0.75-litre bottle contains enough to go around for everyone at a picnic. This mild white wine drink is 4.5% ABV.

Nero Frizzante is made in Italy in the Emilia-Romagna region by Cantine Riunite, one of the world’s largest producers of Lambrusco wines. Thanks to its low alcohol content, Nero Frizzante has fewer calories than the average wine and will be sold in off-trade.

Finns favour flavoured and light ciders

The light summertime newcomers to the popular Upcider family are Upcider Light Pineapple and the pleasantly sweet Upcider Light Red Apple. Close to half of the bottles of cider that end up in shopping bags are of the flavoured variety. Hartwall will now offer a fresh pineapple Upcider to cater to consumers’ strong preference for flavoured ciders. The popularity of apple ciders is rising constantly – Light Red Apple is a new alternative for meeting this demand. Both of these new 4.7% ABV ciders have an energy content of 30 kcal/dl.

Lightening up long drinks

Consumer surveys show that many consumers like long drinks, but think that they contain too many calories. This is a concern for women in particular. There has been demand for lighter long drinks. Hartwall is launching two new light products: Hartwall Original Gin Long Drink Light for sale in Alko stores and the on-trade, and Cool Grape Light for the off-trade.

Hartwall Original Gin Long Drink Light is the authentic, original long drink. Unveiled at the Helsinki Olympics back in 1952, it sports a distinctive stripy label. It has been the bestselling product at Alko stores for years and the undisputed champion of the long drink market. Hartwall Original Gin Long Drink

We have now introduced Hartwall Original Gin Long Drink Light. It has the authentic long drink taste, but only 35 kcal/dl. A small amount of sugar has been added to give it a rounded flavour, but artificial sweeteners keep it light. The new long drink has been sold in 0.33-litre glass bottles in the on-trade since the beginning of the year. It will be available from Alko stores in 0.33-litre cans as from late April.

The new Cool Grape Light is the light version of the traditional Cool Grape. Its fresh taste has not been compromised – consumer surveys show that the light version is considered to be a refreshing, long-drink-type beverage with just the right amount of grapefruit tang. The energy content of the product is 30 kcal/dl.

Flavoured long drinks add variety to the product range and their popularity is on the rise. Close to half of those who enjoy long drinks either consume the flavoured varieties exclusively or in addition to the grapefruit-flavoured original. Consumer surveys show that Hartwall’s Otto is the long drink that enjoys the highest demand in the off-trade. The range of flavoured Otto long drinks will now be rounded out with Otto Vadelma, which is bursting with summery raspberry flavour. Otto Vadelma is a refreshing, raspberry-red long drink that is sweetened with sugar. It is 4.7% ABV.

The world’s best-known Asian beer arrives in Finland

Hartwall’s range of beers will expand with the introduction of Tiger, the world’s best-known Asian beer. Tiger has been brewed in Singapore since 1932. It is a 4.6% ABV pale lager that is brewed exclusively from the finest natural ingredients.

Hartwall’s new beverages will be launched at the beginning of April. The new summertime ciders and long drinks were developed in-house at Hartwall.
