Fresh Alpine winds will blow in the Finnish beer market. In the beginning of April, Hartwall will round out its beer range with Edelweiss Snowfresh, a unique and modern Austrian wheat beer flavoured with Alpine herbs.
Edelweiss Snowfresh is brewed by Hofbräu Kaltenhausen in Salzburg, at the foot of the Alps. It is one of Austria’s oldest breweries, with beer-making traditions going back over 500 years. It is also the oldest brewer of wheat beers in Austria – but with Edelweiss Snowfresh, the brewery seeks to cater to today’s tastes.
“Edelweiss Snowfresh is the brewery’s latest tour de force of product development. This top-notch beer has a crisp and refreshing taste. Its colour is rich and cloudy, because it is unfiltered. The share of the Finnish beer market accounted for by specialty beers is still small, but interest in them is growing all the time. New interesting and approachable speciality beers introduce welcome variety into the beer offering in Finland and are particularly appealing to youthful adults,” says Ossi Ahto, Brand Manager at Hartwall.
Edelweiss Snowfresh is a unique and modern wheat beer. When brewing wheat beer, at least half of the malts used are wheat. Edelweiss Snowfresh gets its freshness from the pure waters of the Alps and its distinctive flavour from alpine herbs and syrup, resulting in a pleasant, modern and highly drinkable wheat beer.
Enjoy Edelweiss the snowfresh way!
• Chill the beer to about 5°C.
• Use a branded Edelweiss Snowfresh glass.
• Rinse the glass with cold water.
• Tilt the glass slightly and pour the beer gently down the side of the glass.
• When the bottle is almost empty, rotate it lightly to loosen the yeast on the bottom, and pour in the rest. This will form a wonderful flower of foam on the surface of the beer.
• In line with Austrian tradition, when making a toast, clink with the lower part of the Edelweiss Snowfresh glasses.
Edelweiss Snowfresh beer is sold in 0.33-litre glass bottles and has an ABV of 5%. The beer will be featured in Hartwall’s range as from 29 March.
