A desperate request to bring back Hartwall Original Long Drink to the Northern Lights bar in Brighton was recently spreading in social media outlets. Hartwall seized the opportunity and quickly packed a bus to deliver the long drink shipment straight off to Brighton. The long drink delegation’s journey across Europe and the reception party in Brighton have been compiled into a fun film.

Pauliina Talvensaari, delighted co-owner of the Northern Lights bar, now says:
“Our local regulars were quite astonished at the attention the film got and at the long drink shipment that came all the way from Finland. Although long drink is the most popular product in our bar, it is difficult for them to grasp the magnitude of the importance it holds for Finnish people. For us, it is just as important as sauna and sisu. Our British customers joined in the spirit splendidly.”
Brighton is a university city, and the clientele at the Northern Lights bar is a youthful and lively crowd.
“Smaller, alternative and genuine things are appreciated in a city with thousands of students. Maybe that is why they favour Hartwall Original Long Drink among our range of drinks”, Pauliina says.
The bus arriving from Finland was greeted by a long drink bus stop built in front of the bar, a large crowd of greeters wearing long drink hats, and a cake with an icing in the Original Long Drink spirit. The bus was almost four hours late and the mood was growing a little restless, until the long-awaited shipment finally arrived. The reception was heartfelt and the party atmosphere was boisterously merry.
Hartwall Original Long Drink was originally developed for the Olympic Games in Helsinki. The fresh-tasting beverage immediately became very popular and has kept its position as a fresh summer drink. The original and classic long drink celebrates its 60th anniversary next year.
