Senior Legal Counsel
You will act as a constructive advisor to both the commercial organisation and the management team, providing guidance and direction that reflect sound judgement and legal expertise. You will be supporting a wide range of legal areas, including general contract and commercial law, corporate law, trademark law, marketing law, GDPR, and various other related matters. You will interact with a variety of internal stakeholders – for example management, commercial, operations, HR, finance – as well as external stakeholders.

In this role, you will get to work with an exciting business and top brands – both domestic and international. You will work in a two-person legal team and will be reporting to Finance Director of Hartwall. You will also collaborate closely with our Group General Counsel of the Royal Unibrew Group in Denmark, as well as with your international legal colleagues across group countries. We work in a hybrid model, and your office is in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki.

Responsibilities:
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and approving legal contracts and other documents related to trade, commercial and operational matters (with customers, suppliers, distributors, consultants, agencies etc.) to protect the organisation’s legal and business interests
- Working with trademark law, marketing law, corporate law and other areas of law as expected from an in-house legal function
Generally, advising on and responding to ad-hoc requests and queries from various stakeholders across the different business units and providing business oriented legal solutions to complex and novel problems in a fast-moving environment, which allows the business to progress without exposing the company to unacceptable risks - Managing contractual claims and disputes
- Managing cross-organisational and cross-border projects (including M&A activities if this is of interest to you)
- Advising on the local legality of Royal Unibrew Group's compliance programs as well as local ones
- Collaborating with external lawyers
Qualifications:
- Master of Laws degree (OTM/OTK)
- Strong academic legal background
- Minimum 5 years of legal practice experience within a commercial law firm or an in-house legal department
- Experience in the beverage or FMCG industry, and experience working in an international environment is considered an advantage
- Solution-driven mindset with strong prioritisation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and willingness to work closely with the business
- Capable of working independently as well as in collaborative and cross-functional environment
- Fluency in English and in Finnish
